Each month, we highlight a team member whose experience, talent, and personality elevate the work we do at Common Knowledge Technology. This month, we’re excited to feature Christopher Moore, whose path from McDonald’s kitchen manager to cross-country cyclist to IT specialist is anything but typical.
Professional Journey
Chris’s professional story began early; through high school and college, he worked at McDonald’s, eventually becoming a Kitchen Manager. After graduating from Purdue University, he stepped into the IT world as an onsite Service Technician at a local technology company. For five years, he traveled from client to client, solving issues on the ground and gaining a deep understanding of hands-on support.
But constant travel and multi-tiered help desk structures made the work exhausting. Chris knew he wanted something different: more autonomy, more flexibility, and the ability to resolve issues directly without waiting on layers of permissions.
That search led him to Common Knowledge Technology, where he found exactly the kind of environment where he could thrive.
Role at CKT
At Common Knowledge Technology, Chris touches nearly every corner of technical operations. His work includes:
- Day-to-day helpdesk support
- After-hours server updates and reboots
- Firewall upgrades
- Monitoring backups and Ironscales
- System repairs
- Evening client support
- Various ongoing and special projects
If something needs attention behind the scenes, Chris is usually the one keeping it running smoothly.
What He Loves About His Role
For Chris, the best part of his position is the flexibility and efficiency he’s able to bring to clients.
Having full system access allows him to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly, without the frustrating red tape of multi-tiered help desks. Combined with the remote work setup, it gives him the balance and pace that his previous roles lacked.
And with that balance, he stays incredibly active outside of work; spending time at the gym, growing a YouTube channel, coordinating a competitive 40-player World of Warcraft group, taking on home remodeling projects, cycling, and more.
Getting to Know Chris
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
In 5th grade, he wrote a letter saying he wanted to be “a computer person.” Mission accomplished.
Favorite hobbies?
Gym training, cycling, running with his husky Apollo, hiking, camping, and a variety of video games.
Who do you admire most?
His parents.
A unique life experience?
Chris has ridden his bicycle across the country six times on different routes. On one trip, a distracted driver cut in front of his group and drove over him. Thankfully, the tires hit his thighs instead of his shins. He was released from the hospital that day and still completed the remaining 40 miles of the ride.

None in particular.

Spaceballs.

Favorite binge-worthy show?
Game of Thrones.
Chris’s story is one of resilience, commitment, and curiosity. Whether he’s supporting clients, taking on late-night maintenance windows, or biking across the country, he brings energy and focus to everything he does. We’re grateful to have him on the CKT team and appreciate the dedication he brings to our clients and our company every day.
